Living Water

Our bodies are made in need of water! Water will not only keep you hydrated and cleanse your system, but it will also assist you in your weight loss journey. According to Dr. Ellington Darden, author of Body Defining, you need to drink a gallon of water each day! He suggests starting with 8 (8oz.) glasses a day and adding 2 glasses a week until you are drinking 1 gallon each day. This means you need to start out drinking 4 of those 16 ounce plastic water bottles, which is 64 oz and add 1 bottle a week until you are drinking 8 bottles, or 128oz. If you have one of my pretty pink water bottles, then you only have to drink 2 a day this week and work up to 4 a day. Whatever your method, start today!!! Cut out the cokes and drink water instead!

Here are some practical tips to help you:
-Keep your bottle with you at all times
-Drink at least 64 ounces before lunch or you will not get it all in
-Do not leave bottles in a hot car (you should not drink the water if it is heated in any way, unless your bottle is BPA free, because you do not want chemicals from the plastic to leak into the water)
-Write yourself reminder notes or set a timer, do whatever it takes to get all your ounces each day
-Find an accountability partner or group (this goes for any type of health/fitness goals that you have, you are more likely to stick with it and reach your goals if someone is pushing you)
-Make it happen, no excuses!

In the same way that our physical bodies need water to live, we also need spiritual water! Jesus said in John 4:14, "Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
