3 on 3 Fit Challenge

Christmas is over and it is time to start thinking about the New Year!!

Have you made any New Year's resolutions yet?!!?

My number #1 goal for 2010 is to GET FIT...physically and spiritually!! Will you join me?!!?

My foot is FINALLY healed and my back/hips are in pretty good shape and I am hoping they stay that way and continue to improve! I have not been able to workout in months and as a result, have not been eating well either! It is time for that to change!

Who's with me?!!?

I have created the 3 on 3 Fit Challenge to help us get going!!!

"What is the 3 on 3 Fit Challenge?" you ask.

Here is the breakdown...

1. You must workout at least 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes
(you need to incorporate stretching, CORE and strength-training as well as cardio, get a trainer to help you set up a routine and show you proper techniques if you do not have a background in health & fitness, make sure to include a 5 min. warm-up and a 5 min. cool-down)

2. You must memorize 3 verses a week from Proverbs 31 (or for men: 3 verses a week from the 31 verses listed in the Character Counts Devotional Cards)
(starting with verse 1 and continuing through verse 31, buy a Fit Band and a set of the Memory Cards or Devotional Cards to help you, click
here for more information on those)

3. You should strive to drink 1 gallon of water each day
(start out with 8 (8 oz.) glasses a day for a week and then add 2 glasses per day each week until you are drinking 1 gallon everyday, it might be easier if you flavor your water with Crystal Light mix-ins, I have heard that the peach tea and raspberry tea flavors are delicious, it will also help if you fill up your gallon jug each morning and drink from it all day long, make sure to keep your jug or bottle with you at all times and make an effort to keep drinking throughout the day...According to Dr. Ellington Darden, expert in health & fitness, drinking this much water will not only cleanse your system and rejuvenate your muscles, but will also assist in fat loss, for more tips on water-drinking click here)

4. You should strive to take 10,000 steps a day
(purchase a good pedometer to help you track your steps, you need to spend at least $20 to get a good one, wear it at all times and make a conscious effort to keep moving throughout the day, go here for more information on this)

5. You should determine your personal weight loss goal and needed calorie intake to reach that goal and maintain that number of calories each day
(use the Livestrong calorie calculator to help you)

6. Please leave a comment on this post to let me know that you are taking the challenge with me

7. Please encourage your family members, friends, co-workers, etc to take the challenge too

8. Please check back for more 3 on 3 Fit Challenge details and for motivational thoughts to help you along the way

9. Please pray for all those taking the challenge and leave comments along the way so that we can encourage one another

It all starts January 3rd and will last for 10 weeks! Are you in?

GOODLUCK!!!
