Hi There!
Chip and I have been married for 7 years and we live just outside of Houston, Texas. We have one energetic 4 year old daughter named Sydney who prays every night that Jesus would bring us a baby brother or baby sister. While we wait on the Lord to answer this prayer, our two dogs Ginger and Roxy, temporarily fill the void in our lives!
Our journey towards adoption started long before we were married. I (Sharee) am adopted and have always wanted to adopt children of my own. When Chip and I married in 2002 we planned on having a large family with both biological and adopted kids....the question wasn't IF we would adopt rather it was WHEN we would adopt.
But as God would have it, the decision of when to adopt was not left to us. In 2007, I was diagnosed with a life-threatening hormonal disorder with only one permanent cure available. Just a year after our biological daughter Sydney was born, I under went a full hysterectomy to restore my health and save my life. The surgery was an absolute miracle for our family and an answer to all of our prayers. Yet with the decision of surgery came the permanent inability to have more biological children. God had made our path clear...adoption was how we were to grow our family.
Fast forward to 2011 and we have officially applied for a domestic adoption. Yippee! It only took us 2 years to find the perfect adoption agency and now all we need is 40K dollars! We would be lying if we didn't tell you that sometimes the whole idea of needing 40K seems impossible. But then again, our God specializes in the impossible. So we are believing God for a miracle...a 40K miracle! Thank you so much for considering helping our family grow through adoption, we honestly could not do it without the generosity of friends, family and even perfect strangers.
