Thursday's Thoughts: Lamentations

God keeps bringing {Lamentations 3:22-23} across my path these days.

Maybe it is because I need to hear it and I am not always the quickest learner.

If you are unfamiliar, here is what it says...

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

You may remember Mary Jo talking about these very verses HERE in relation to the recent devastation in Joplin.

They have been on my mind alot since then.

Today Big A talked about this same passage of scripture HERE on his blog.

You really need to read it.

What a beautiful picture of God's love and faithfulness even in times of great sorrow and devastation.

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

It continues to amaze me how your life can change in an instant.

One day you have a lovely home and the next it is completely wiped out by a tornado.

One day your husband has a job and the next day he is fired.

One day you are walking on sunshine and then boom tragedy strikes.

Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men.

There are not many guarantees in this life.

But one thing remains to be true and unwavering and that is the faithfulness of the great and mighty God that we serve.

I am so thankful that he is always on his throne.

In the words of Steven Curtis Chapman, "he is the king of the jungle!"

Love, love, love Lamentations 3:22-23! Seems like it would be such a glum book, and it contains such sweet promises. Thanks for sharing!
