Football and Fashion...fabric skirt and flower tutorials included!

It's that magical time of year when the air cools down, leaves change colors and for so many...college football is in full swing!

My husband, for one, loves football.  I can't say that I'm a big fan. In fact, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that I don't really know very much about football...at all.  I've actually grown up surrounded by SEC football, but I guess it's not one of those things you learn by osmosis.

A few things I do like about college football...the colors, the food and dressing up my girls!

I've heard that tents are more common in tailgating these days.  So why not dress up your tent, adding some colors that coordinate with your favorite team?

Living in Volunteer country, we are fortunate to be in the ideal season to use orange.  How fun would it be to decorate our tents with pumpkins and mums?

And what about "dressing up" your table with some football themed food?  I happen to think that these are really cute and my kids would love them!

You can find the recipe here.

My oldest daughter loves to dress up and cheer for whatever team Daddy is watching, whether it's our favorite local high school team, our alma maters or our Tennessee Volunteers!  It works out perfectly for me, because I love to make cute things for my girls to wear!

This year, my girls have matching skirts and hair clips to wear to the local high school games.  I made the little felt footballs and simply attached them to ribbons. You can find my tutorial for making these skirts here. Just find your perfect fabric and about 30 minutes to spare!

And for you mamas out there, don't limit yourself to a team t-shirt! Try adding a fun coordinating accessory...like a rosette necklace or flower clips!

Want to make a flower??

1. Grab a strip of fabric.  (I used an old t-shirt)
2.  Run a basting stitch through the middle of the fabric, all the way down the entire length of the fabric.
3.  Fold in half, start at one end and roll the fabric.
4.  When you get to the end, glue it to a piece of fabric.
5.  From here you can glue/sew it onto whatever you want.

Now, go make something cute and enjoy the season!

And if you would rather just have me make it for you, check out my website or find me on Facebook! I make and sell everything you see and also take custom orders for pretty much anything you want. I would love to help you spice up your Fall wardrobe!
