25 Names of Jesus: {Day 14} Lamb of God

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29

As I mentioned previously, without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins (Hebrews 9:22). A perfect, spotless sacrifice had to be made, in order to make a way for sinners to receive forgiveness. God sent Jesus to be that sacrifice.

 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,

each of us has turned to his own way;

and the Lord has laid on him

the iniquity of us all.

7He was oppressed and afflicted,

yet he did not open his mouth;

he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,

and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,

so he did not open his mouth. (Isaiah 53:6-7)
