25 Names of Jesus: {Day 18} Lord of Glory

“None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:8

Jesus Christ is the "image of the invisible God." (Colossians 1:15). His entire life, death and resurrection were to the glory of God the Father. He stepped down from His throne in Heaven, made His earthly appearance as God in the flesh and showed us His glory (John 1:14). He made Himself nothing, pointing to God. He humbled Himself and became obedient to death, even death on a cross. This is why God exhaulted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name. That at the name of Jeus, every knee will bow (Philippians 2:8-9).

"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven." (Hebrews 1:3)

I hope you are having fun hanging your 25 Names of Jesus advent ornaments and discussing His names with your family! Go here to read the other posts in this series and to download the free printable ornaments if you want to follow along as we countdown to Christmas!
