{Faith and Fitness}: Small Changes Lead to Big Results

Happy New Year! I hope that this year brings you great things in the Lord and in fitness! I wanted to take the time to give you a little encouragement as you make lifestyle changes to help you reach your New Year’s resolutions. If you are anything like me then you have said that you will be healthier in 2013! The important thing to remember is that it doesn’t take drastic changes; you don’t have to stop eating or workout for hours a day. Adding 30 minutes of walking a day and practicing portion control can make a huge difference in your overall health and doesn’t require much planning. For help on easy/healthy recipes and encouragement in your lifestyle changes, check out my page Fit 4 Life here.

There are also products out there to aid in weight loss and overall fitness. I am a huge supporter of AdvoCare and use their products on a daily basis. They are not meant to take the place of healthy eating and exercise, but to give you better results faster. They have something as simple as Spark, which is an energy drink to help you make it through a long day and keep you focused, all the way to the 24 Day Challenge, which lays out an eating plan for 24 days and the products to go with it to help you jump start a lifestyle change and weight loss! They also just came out with workout videos that only last 24 minutes! This would be a great way to add in a workout in a short amount of time! Check out Advocare here to see their products and get started on your weight loss adventure today!

Keep in mind that persistance is far more important than perfection! Growing up as an athlete there were times I was faced with challenges that I wasn’t quite sure I could handle. My favorite verse to get me through those times was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” I always knew that whatever struggle I faced I could make it through as long as I leaned on the Lord!
