I don't know about where you live, but it's been HOT, HOT, HOT here in Missouri. We're talking lots of days of over 100 degrees hot, which can only mean one thing around our house...slushies!
We have this
Slushie Express Slushie Maker
and have found that it works pretty well...especially for making slushies quickly! The only thing I wasn't a fan of was how much of the syrup we were using and how pricey it can be.
But, the good, ol' internet came to my rescue when I found this recipe for slushie (or snowcone) syrup using ingredients you probably have in your cabinet!
Slushie Syrup Recipe
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of water
1 .22 ounce
unsweetened power drink mix (Kool-Aid or store brand)
Mix all ingredients in a saucepan until it reaches a boil then remove from heat. Allow to cool. Using a funnel, pour it into a plastic bottle. I have found that these
Wilton Decorating Squeeze Bottle
bottles work really well!
Hope it works for you! Do you have any great ways to beat the summer heat??
