It was designed by my dear friend Becky Happel of Junkyard Cards in response to the devastating fires in Texas this past week.
{feel free to post it on your blog/FB/twitter wall or use it as your FB/twitter profile pic to encourage people to pray}
I have been out of the loop today {9/8} but as of 7:00pm {CST} last night, the Bastrop fire alone stretched 24 miles long and 20 miles wide, destroying 785 homes, forcing the evacuations of 5000 people and was only 30% contained.
***Edited to Add***
As of yesterday {9/9}, the count is now 1386 homes lost just in Bastrop. More in Leander, Steiner Ranch, Cedar Creek, Cedar Park, Spicewood and that is just the area around Austin, not to mention the other fires in Central and East Texas. Some of these fires are just miles from our old home. Lord, have mercy!
As of today {9/10}, the federal government has declared a national disaster for Bastrop County. Over 1400 homes lost and the fire is only 50% contained.
As of today {9/15}, I have family displaced in Bastrop and there are fires just a few miles from the Vick Ranch, which has been in our family for over 100 years. 3.7 million Texas acres have burned, that's more than 1/2 the number of acres burned nationally in the past 8 months; 2386 homes destroyed and another 1200 structures, so many families displaced!
Texas firefighters {including my cousin} are working round the clock to try to put out the fires in Central and East Texas.
Have you seen these horrifying pictures?!
That last one is the view from outer space. Talk about perspective.
It is bad. To say the least.
We need to get down on our knees and beg God for mercy.
Lord, please send your healing rain and pour it down over my beloved homeland. Protect my family and friends and all those in harm's way. Spare homes and lives. Bring glory to your great name. Amen.
How can you help?!
{besides praying obviously}

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. {2 Chronicles 7:14}

Thanks for the prayers! I am from Bastrop where the pictures above are from. Our neighborhood is devastated & we are all now moving into the clean up and rebuild. Please continue to pray for our spirits and our strength.
God Bless,
