{Hope for the Home}: Be Intentional! **giveaway** CLOSED!!

What a wonderful privilege it is to visit with all of you today! I’m Tina from Baby be Blessed! When I was first asked to contribute to this weekly series, I almost didn’t do it! Not because it wasn’t a beautiful opportunity…but because I was scared! It's one thing to yack on and on over at your own little blog corner of the world, but I honestly didn’t think my words were worthy to be here.

Oh, how I give the enemy too much room to scramble doubts in my mind! Through Christ we are all worthy! The Lord however, laid those doubts to rest as I trusted in His strength and not my own. After all, if we only do the things we are comfortable with then it would be all us –right?! It’s when we venture out to do the things He has called us to do in faith, that it’s all Him! -can I get an AMEN! =)

When Erin emailed me about the vision God gave her for {Hope for the Home}: Finding God in the Everyday, one thing she said in particular rang out to me.

“…it is doing intentional things in your day to day lives that spur thoughts/conversations about God, making your home and life a living testimony.”

And isn’t that exactly what God instructs us to do?

Deuteronomy 11:18-21
Place these words on your hearts. Get them deep inside you. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder. Teach them to your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning until you fall into bed at night. Inscribe them on the doorposts and gates of your cities so that you'll live a long time, and your children with you, on the soil that God promised to give your ancestors for as long as there is a sky over the Earth.

And how do we do this? - By being intentional!
It is said that you make time for what is important to you…is making your life and home a living testimony important? {I am sooo screaming –YES right now! Ha-ha}

If we first, place His words deep into our hearts we will bear the abundant fruit in our lives that seasons God flavors in the earth and shines the God colors –not only into the world…but to our children! And to do this we need to be intentionally living!

It is amazing when you think about it! The Lord (who knows every little dark corner in us) has chosen us to parent our children. We are the biggest influence in our children’s lives! Isn’t that HUGE! One day we will stand before our Father and give an account of how we cared for the most precious gifts He has entrusted to us! It won’t be the Church standing there…it’s not their responsibility –it’s ours! And if you are not a parent, you are still influencing the children God has placed around you!

So how do we move forward in this huge important task?!

Ask!

Ask God for His eyes to see and His mind to use every opportunity as one to teach about His great *LOVE*! Ask the Holy Spirit to fill and give wisdom! Put little signs around your house as reminders! PRAY-PRAY-PRAY! Read His word Everyday!!

Live out your faith in front of them! Be BOLD for Christ, in Christ!

Now I know that everyone is busy! The world clutters our time and minds with loads of things and to-do’s! With a husband, four children, Baby be blessed doll ministry, Church ministry, children activities, day care children, two dogs, two cats, a hamster –named Lolly Pop, and a soon to be horse…I KNOW ABOUT BEING BUSY!!!! And with all these blessings given…how do we balance it all?

For me, I’m a creature of habit and routine…so I need to have set times and daily rhythms to help me be intentional.

One thing we do in our family is to set our Bible time at breakfast. We do this every day and currently we are in the book of 1 Kings. I use pretty plates, bowls and coffee cups for milk! It’s a special time! We start with prayer and I read the Bible to them as they eat their breakfast. We talk, discuss and just allow the Lord to lead. We end praying over prayer requests and trusting God with our day. I figure that time into our morning and we wake up accordingly.

For my four year old (who typically is still in bed when the big kids eat breakfast) we do his Bible time at night. His bedtime story is from our favorite Children's Bible. He tucks up in my lap under a favorite blanket or sometimes we prop up lots of pillows and lay in his bed, with lights out and use his little flashlight to read. More times than not the three big kids are piled in there too!

It's those times that I treasure most…and I know how important it is for our children!

How about you? I’m excited to join in this journey! Can we sharpen and encourage each other?!

And because I LOVE you all SO MUCH and **It’s almost Valentine’s Day** and to celebrate my very first post here at {Hope for the Home} AND it’s yet another way to intentionally teach your children the word of God,
