25 Names of Jesus: {Day 24} True Vine

“I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener.” John 15:1

Just like fruit attached to the vine blossoms and grows, so will we flourish when we nuture our relationship with Christ. Apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15). And if we have not received His free gift of salvation through faith and trust in Him, we are dead in our sins (Romans 6:23).

One of my all-time favorite Christmas songs is Jars of Clay's "Little Drummer Boy." I listen to it many times during the holiday season. The line that gets me everytime is when the little boy says, "I played my drum for Him. I played my best for Him."

What a beautiful picture of a life sold out to Christ, giving Him all he had to give. Whether it be time, money, talents...Jesus wants us to give Him our best, everything that we have to give. He wants us to remain in Him, so that we can bear much fruit. What will you give Him this Christmas season?

I hope you are having fun hanging your 25 Names of Jesus advent ornaments and discussing His names with your family! Go here to read the other posts in this series and to download the free printable ornaments if you want to follow along as we countdown to Christmas!

Happy December, friends! It's the most wonderful time of the year! :)
