Big A and I rarely go out on dates. Seriously.
We live far away from family and have little money for sitters. Not to mention our schedule has no extra time in it, between our ministries, work, school, church, t-ball, etc.
Our version of "dating" is spending time together after the boys are in bed. Sometimes we order in. Sometimes I make a special dessert. Sometimes we pop in a movie. Whatever we can do to get a little quality time in on a low budget and crazy schedule.
Can anyone relate? I would love to hear your ideas on how to "date" with these stipulations in mind!
Oh but last night. Last night was different. And amazing.
We were invited to attend The Hope Center (crisis pregnancy center) benefit dinner, with Franklin Graham! We were SO excited! We even got to get dressed up. Can't remember the last time that happened.
I was worried about what to wear and even more, how I was going to do my hair. I had washed my hair that morning but then spent all day at the pumpkin patch with Little A on his class field trip. I was only going to have time to run home, change and head out as soon as the sitter arrived. And my hair doesn't do well down unless it is freshly washed, dried and styled, which is why I wear it in a ponytail most days.
That is, until I found Lilla Rose!
Jackie sent me a flexi clip in the mail a few weeks ago, so that I could try it out and review it for her. I have to admit I was a skeptic at first. My hair is very thick and heavy and yet fine at the same time, which makes for a terrible combination when trying to wear anything in it....it just slips, losing it's shape or has to constantly be adjusted.
But the flexi clip, my friends, is seriously awesome! I put it in my hair all by myself (so easy to manipulate), it looked perfect the first time I did it and it stayed in place ALL night long! It was snug and secure and SO comfortable, couldn't even feel it!
Seriously, big fan!
I see people post pictures like this all the time on blogs and Facebook. I had never done it before but thought it was cool, so I gave it a try!
Here you can see my flexi clip from the side!
And here it is from the back. Simple and pretty. Comfortable and SO easy to install on your own!
The flexi clip comes in all sorts of sizes and styles. And Lilla Rose has several other fabulous hair products, including hair sticks, o rings, hair bands, bobby pins, you pins and badge holders. I am excited to try their hair bands and o rings, they will be perfect for dressing up my daily ponytail! :)
Check out their fabulous products here and follow them on Facebook here. Be sure to contact Jackie for all of your Lilla Rose needs; her products would make great Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers for family and friends!
Go here to watch the Lilla Rose styling/sizing videos to find out which style/size is right for you! I am wearing the small flexi clip but in order to put all of my hair up into a ponytail, I would need a bigger size to fit my thick hair!
As for our evening with Franklin Graham, it was awesome!!! We got to meet him and hear him speak! He reminded us that "life is full of raging storms but just as Jesus once told his disciples not to fear the high waves, He tells us the same today because, after all, if Jesus is in the boat, it will not sink."
And of course I am all about supporting any ministry that promotes life! I encourage you to find your local crisis pregnancy center that is sharing the hope of life in Christ with the women in your community and find a way to get involved either through prayer, volunteering and/or financial support!
Because as Franklin Graham put it, "their hope was in the boat with them."
It is my prayer that you know first hand the hope of new life in Christ. Go here to find out more information on how to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus, which leads to eternal life in heaven with Him when you die.
And if you would like to be featured here, contact me at worthyoftheprize@yahoo.com. As of today, we are averaging almost 50,000 hits per month (and growing daily) and have almost 6,000 followers (and growing daily)! We would love to help fund our ministries by promoting your ministry, blog, small business or handmade shop. Not only would we put your ad on our page but we will promote you from all of our social media sites and allow you to host reviews, features, giveaways and guest posts.
Happy Friday, friends!
